My new series of posts will be about Egypt. Egypt seems like the most mysterious and amazing empire. The Nile River is the life of Egypt. It would be hard, if not impossible, to build a kingdom without the Nile. The Nile often flooded Egypt's banks and left silt so the ground was better for farming. There are many cataracts in the river which makes traveling through the river hard, but not impossible. The cataracts and the natural desert can also help drive off enemies. The Nile is the longest river in the world and all eventually empties out in the Mediterranean.
