Goguryeo

Updated: Mar 15, 2019

This is my favorite of all of the other kingdoms. Goguryeo, also known as Goryeo, was the most powerful kingdom out of Baekje and Silla. Goguryeo was later adopted as the official name in the 5th century, and is the origin of the English name, "Korea". Goguryeo was at a constant fight against Silla and Baekje for the Korean peninsula. Goguryeo was founded in 37 BCE (Before the common era) by Jumong. Jumong was the first founding monarch of the kingdom Goguryeo. He is also known as Dongmyeong which means "Holy King of the East." He changed his kingdom to a great amount of territory and a lot of power.
